ANNUAL FUNDRAISER

The students of the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage have been busy this past year raising money for the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation.

This year we were able to present the SCCR with a cheque in the amount of $2000.00. These annual contributions have helped fund the purchase of medical equipment, to support special treatment programs, and art to warm up the centre’s environment.

This fundraiser has become an annual event for ACTM students and we are proud to have contributed a total of
$10,000.00 over the past 6 years!

This fundraiser is a part of the students’ training here at ACTM. This project was developed to refine the business skills of the students and to show appreciation to the SCCR for inviting us to treat their patients with massage therapy as part of our learning experience. We raised funds by the students volunteering their free time to do massages, with all the proceeds going to the SCCR.

Included in picture (from left to right) are ACTM students Heather Sung (left) and Nina Watai (far right) who presented the cheque on behalf of ACTM for $2,000 to SCCR Director Dr. Ron Harris.

Last year, the funds raised went to art work that was purchased at a fundraiser for the Canadian Paraplegic Association. Artists donated their work to the Association, and which were then auctioned off at the fundraiser. So, ACTM's funds went to both the SCCR (art work) and the Canadian Paraplegic Association (money).
