Our Faculty
The key to the quality education which students receive at
the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage is its qualified,
experienced and dedicated faculty. Included in the faculty
are instructors with graduate and post-graduate credentials
in physiotherapy, naturopathic medicine, law and kinesiology.
Registered massage therapists with many years as private practitioners complement a diverse and enthusiastic team with over 95 years of combined teaching experience and 112 years of Clinical experience in the field of massage therapy and other health related fields.
Many of our faculty members donate time to the administration of the profession of massage therapy in New Brunswick, and bring to the classroom a broad understanding of current issues in massage therapy.

Registered Massage Therapist

Angela is a clinic supervisor at the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage.
She is a graduate from the Kawartha Centre for Integrative Health Education
in Peterborough Ontario and has been practicing as a registered massage therapist
since the year 2000. Angela is also president and owner of the Advanced Therapeutic
Treatment Center in Fredericton, N.B. She is a member in good standing of the
Association of New Brunswick Massage Therapists and The College of Massage
Therapists of Ontario. Angela is also certified as an infant massage instructor
and a labour support provider.

Naturopathic Doctor; Bachelor of Science; Master of Science

Dr. Bunin received his BScH from Acadia University, his Master of Science
degree at the University of Otago in New Zealand, and his education in Naturopathic
Medicine at the 4 year, full time, post-graduate program at the Canadian College
of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. Dr. Bunin is the President of the
New Brunswick Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and operates the Fredericton
Naturopathic Clinic (together with his wife, Dr. Parissa Bunin) at 422 York
Street in Fredericton, N.B.

Stephanie Calhoun

Bachelor of Arts; Registered Massage Therapist

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Thomas University (’95) and is a graduate of the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage (‘02). She has been involved in the health and fitness industry since 1998. Stephanie has worked at the St. Thomas Athletics Department as the Athletics Coordinator and is a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor with the Canadian Association of Fitness Professionals. She has been a certified Pilates Instructor since 2001 and become a Registered Kripalu Yoga Teacher in 2006.
Stephanie has been a guest lecturer at the University of New Brunswick, and teaches remedial exercises at ACTM. Stephanie is the owner of the Restorative Pilates & Yoga Studio, and co-owner of the Restorative Health Centre.

A graduate of the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (1996), Nadine
has operated a clinical private practice in Fredericton, N. B. since 1997.
From 1996 to the present she has been actively involved with the Association
of New Brunswick Massage Therapists, and has been a board member for 11 years.
She also holds a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of New
Brunswick. Nadine has 11 years experience as an instructor/educator both at
the college and university levels.
She also regularly addresses public groups on the topic of the professional
discipline of Massage Therapy. Nadine is a member in good standing with the
ANBMT and CMTO.

Candace is the former President of the Association of New Brunswick Massage Therapists as had been a board member for 6 years. She is also a member in good standing with the ANBMT and the CMTO.
Sherri-Lynn Grant

Registered Massage Therapist
Sherri-Lynn graduated from the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage in December 2003 and has been a member in good standing with the Association of New Brunswick Massage Therapists since graduating in 2003. Sherri-Lynn has worked alongside Physiotherapists and other health professionals at the Fredericton Physiotherapy Clinic, a private clinic in Downtown Fredericton, since January 2004. On top of this she has also offered mobile massage therapy treatments at her client’s homes and through her own home. Sherri-Lynn works at ACTM as a clinical supervisor and an instructor, teaching Corporate Massage and Treatments. Since graduating, she has continued to pursue her education in massage therapy.

Ivany

Registered Massage Therapist

Lisa is the Clinic Director and an instructor at the Atlantic College of
Therapeutic Massage. She was the Treasurer of the Association of New Brunswick
Massage Therapists from 2003 to 2006. Lisa is a practicing registered massage
therapist, and after graduating from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy,
became a member of the CMTO in 2000. Since graduating, she has continued to
pursue her education in massage therapy, taking courses specializing in pregnancy
massage, craniosacral therapy, lymphatic drainage, and sport massage.

Robert is a graduate of the University of New Brunswick, and has practiced

Sharon Jones-Gilmore is a practicing small animal massage practitioner and
a registered massage therapist. She operates PETrissage Animal Massage Therapy,
which offers at home or on site massage services to animals and their owners
all over New Brunswick. She is a 2005 graduate from ACTM. She has also received
her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of New Brunswick.
Sharon received her small animal massage training from the Northwest School
of Animal Massage and is currently undergoing Large Animal Massage and Canine
Aquatic Rehabilitation Training. She is a member of the Association of New
Brunswick Massage Therapists and the International Association of Animal Massage & Bodywork.

Microbiologist

Sophia Kondratova is a microbiologist employed by Impact
Microbiology Services Ltd. Sophia graduated from the University of New
Brunswick in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, and
then in 2004 received her Masters of Science degree in Chemistry from UNB.
She has been working as a Microbiologist for Impact Microbiology Services
in Fredericton since 2004.

A graduate of the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage in December 2006, Jules has worked out of a private clinic in Moncton, NB since 2007.
Jules also attented the Université de Moncton where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2004. He has worked with various atheletes around the region, including runners,UNB and UdeM atheletes, and the 2006 National Champions Moncton Mets. Jules also volunteers his time at sporting events and fundraisers around the province. Since January 2008, he has been the Recruitment Officer for the Collège Atlantique de Massage Thérapeutique located in Moncton, NB.

Steve graduated from Dalhousie University (physiotherapy) in 1991. Along
with cranial sacral and visceral therapies, he has practiced and completed
training in acupuncture and energy-based approaches. He is also interested
in direct and indirect myofascial release and their application to chronic
pain. Presently, he is a part time student at the Halifax, N.S. campus of the
Canadian College of Osteopathy.

Cindy McNeely, R.M.T. graduated from Sutherland-Chan
School & Teaching Clinic in 1985 and has an active clinical practice.
She began teaching in 1989 and has taught in numerous M.T. Colleges. In
1995, she formed Trimesters: Massage Therapy Education with her colleague
Allison Hines, R.M.T. Trimesters provides pregnancy, labour support, infant
massage, and hospital based perinatal courses for M.T. and M.T. students
throughout Canada.
Justin Sappier

Justin graduated from the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage in October 2004 and has been a member in good standing with the Association of New Brunswick Massage Therapists since graduating in 2004. Justin is a clinical supervisor at the College and has supervised several ACTM clinics including Sports Clinic, Regular Clinic, Wellness Clinic at the St. Mary's Health Center and several corporate and sporting outreaches. He currently offers mobile massage therapy treatments at his client’s home and through his home as well.

Michelle graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of
Business Administration degree in 1993. In 2005 she obtained a Masters degree
in Adult Education from UNB and has been employed as staff accountant in
audit and control for Aliant, as well as a property accountant for Greenarm
Corporation. Michelle also has experience as a Wellness Programmer and brings
a wealth of organizational and business expertise to the students at ACTM.

Born and raised in Miramichi, N.B., Tyson has been a resident of Fredericton
for the past eight years. Tyson graduated from the University of New Brunswick
in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He then attended the Atlantic
College of Therapeutic Massage and graduated in March of 2003 with a Diploma
in Massage Therapy. Tyson is the College's Sports Clinic supervisor and an
instructor for their Sports Therapy Certification course. He also practices
at Advanced Therapeutic Treatment Center. Presently he is a full time student
at UNB, working on obtaining his Bachelor of Nursing.
